Ciao Sonia! I am visiting Baronia, Trevico, and Vallesaccarda from the states soon. I was hoping to get some recommendations on hotels, restaurants, and any attractions I should see. I appreciate any information you can give me. Thank you!

Ciao Nicole! Happy you come visiting us! If you want I can spent a day with you for a brief tour of Baronia.
A s you ask I will give some information about Baronia, Trevico e Vallesaccarda.
About accomodations, you can choose near Trevico a agriturism, Azienda agrituristica Santa Lucia, http://www.tenutasantalucia.it/ or a Bed and Breakfast, B&B Pronti , or a Restaurant with hotel settled in Vallesaccarda, Minicuccio http://www.minicuccio.com/ .
The territory of the Baronia with the Town hall of Trevico, Vallata, Carife, Castel Baronia, S. Sossio Baronia, S. Nicola Baronia, Flumeri, Scampitella, Vallesaccarda, constitutes an only mountainous relief, delimited to south by the river Ufita and from the homonym valley, to north from the stream Fiumarella and to east from the river Calaggio. The territory is predominantly hilly and stops by the 450 ms. of altitude of the low valley of Ufita to the 1094 ms. of Trevico that dominates the landscapes of the whole valley up to the mountains of the Cervialto, Picentini and of the Terminio. The ground is of clayey nature, with layers of calcareous rock and its friability has allowed the water to model it in an alternation of ridges, channels and hillocks to form of domes said "Toppole" that join the high ground of Trevico with the expanses of the valley of Ufita.
Trevico is at the top and I known as the Roof of Irpinia; it is the highest and the oldest village of Baronia. Reach of forest and countryside it the ideal place where to spend a day in open air in touch with nature. Owing to its attitude from Trevico you can see a fantastic panoramic view of the entire valley with seasonally changing coulors from the intense yellow of the summer to the uniform white of the snow in winter. From a vantage point (The Castle) it’s possible under right weather conditions to see Gargano and Vesuvio. During this winter period the air is very cold and clear an across streets you can feel the good smell of smoke from fireplaces and chestnuts.
Trevico is very reach of History and you can see it in every corner. It is important to visit the ancient Crypt, considered the first pagan temple dedicated to the Goddess Trivia and the Cathedral, constructed between 455 and 534 on the site of the temple of the Goddess Trivia, Port’Alba. For more informations see the website http://www.trevico.net/.
Vallesaccarda, is a Village settled at the foot of Mount Trevico. The Village from the beginning always followed the historical and feudal Trevico, from which depended administratively until 1958, the year of his elevation to the autonomous municipality.
What characterize Vallesaccarda is the presence on the territory of the Special Protection Area " Barony Woods and Rivers," a recognition that projects Vallesaccarda into the Natura 2000 network, that gives to the village a special connotation that is peculiar to environmentally sustainable tourism. http://www.vallesaccardaecogastronomica.it
Vallesaccarda is also very known for its gastronomic vocation, improved by two important restaurants, Minicuccio and Oasis. To Vallesaccarda you can come especially to eat well, to live nature and have excellent hospitality. It’s funny but in the square of Vallesaccarda you can always feel a good smell of food. http://www.vallesaccardaecogastronomica.it/files/Guida-al-Territorio.pdf
In Vallesaccarda there is liveliness and cultural ferment thanks to the presence of numerous associations that promote important initiatives to attract visitors (Vallesaccarda Ecogastronomica, Environment Week, Ecological Walk, Festivals, Art Exhibitions, Concerts, Christmas markets, Christmas Village, ...) and to provide good hospitality to tourists. http://www.comune-vallesaccarda.it
